So you want a fan but you worry your ceiling might be a tad too low for one?
Don’t worry one bit! With Flush mount fans there is no need to worry about the perfect choice for your ceiling fan. Flush mounts are made for rooms with low ceilings; they are an excellent answer to restricted areas that can become too congested such as a store room or a narrow hallway.
As they are like regular fan, attached to the ceiling they fulfill their job of circulating air without the use of any additional space such that a standing fan may take. Another great feature is that Flush mount fans are available with lighting options as well!
Just because your ceiling is low doesn’t mean that you can’t also have a unique, stylish, cost effective ceiling as well. These fans are placed completely against the ceiling instead of the traditional usage of a rod that lets the fan dangle about a foot below a ceiling of normal height. They are relatively easy to find using names such as:
- Hugger ceiling fans
- Low profile fans, and
- Flush mount.
They are manufactured purposely for ceilings of 8 feet or lower, with their blades positioned from the ceiling in the range of 6 – 10 inches instead of the traditional 12-14 inches found on regular ceiling fans.
Flush mount fans come in many different designs to choose from, such as contemporary, stainless steel, transient, white finish, classical, wooden etc. these designs are made to ensure that no matter what décor your low ceilinged room has, it can always be matched with a flush mount that would help complement the room.
Flush mount fans also come with a built in lighting option, the most elegant of hugger ceiling fans are made of oak or cherry with 5 blades and a design to aid in the efficient functioning in terms of air circulation. Most flush mounts are able to circulate air while making no disturbing noise and no vibrations as well.
However it is necessary for you to make a wise decision before buying the fan of your choice. One of the disadvantages of a flush mount is the lack of airflow due to its short wingspan. Thus before buying, keep in mind to check the fan for its effectiveness. The fan must be of good quality and design.
Even low ceilings can look good with Flush mount fans!
